Why are all of you guess freaking? He will come when he is ready to purify the world. There is no set date. And where did the date 2012 come from? Oh and by the way, the thing with the year 2000, the monks that converted the Gregorian calender screwed up and set us back a few years.

There's a theory that religion as we know it will be over in 2012. A new spirituality will emerge, not the second coming.
At the end of the day it's all a case of guessing, I think this is all due to the fact that the Mayan ( and also another) calendar runs out then.
2012 is viewed more as the time of the introduction of the New Age of spirituality. Only the christians would try to hijack it as the second coming of Jesus and lets face it they haven't got their facts about him totally accurate. If they had they wouldn't celebrate his birth in December.......As for Jesus coming back ? only another ruse to make people behave according to biblical domination so that if comes back in their time, they'll be seen as good and let into the happy heaven place.

I don't know why everyone is worried. We don't
know know when Jesus is coming back. He
could be coming tomorrow for all we really know! Some people need to stop worrying. I
am not worried about the year 2012. What
going to happen then? Banana Republic's going
to run out of khakis forever? The espresso machine'll be forever jammed? I definitely would be afraid of that... but then I would be afraid of people complaining in my face.

because some people like to freak out. they were paranoid about the year 2000, before that there was this guy in the US around the 1800s that actually predicted the day when Jesus would come back...he made a fortune selling "Ascension robes". when the day came, he and his disciples waited on a hill and nothing happened. no matter, he continued to come up with new dates every year until the day he died

People also thought Jesus was returning in 1988 and millions of people sold or gave freely all of there possesions including homes cars money etc.. then when it did not happen those people were really in a bind caus they were homeless and poor.
some people are really dumb.

Jesus advice us as to how he will come. He will come as a thief in the night when nobody suspected that he is coming.

The church slaughtered The Mayans and Aztecs. I guess when they burned all of their writings they forgot to burn the calendars and it is freaking them out.
Here is a list of past failures we will be able to add 2012 to:

It was supposed to end when the population hit 6.66 billion too. that has passed.
