I don't know for sure, but I would say the struggle is necessary - it helps them become strong and if they can't make it out of the egg, then they aren't strong enough to survive.
Sad, isn't it? I don't think I could watch and not help!

They need the struggle to develop enough to survive outside the egg. If we help them out, they die.

If your eggs are hatching they are way past the best before date and you should be returning them to the store and getting your money back.
ps: eva says it right, I think it is something to do with the connection to the yolk sack.

Because in order for them to survive their life, they have to fight from the begining. Life is all about survival for them. It helps them to build up their muscles.

I did it once. It kills them. They are still developing on thier way out. They need the time.
