I don't know much in detail, but I've taken valium and it is very relaxing. I've actually taken them before I had to do a speaking presentation because of my fear and anxiety. It calmed my nerves quite well without having any ill-effects. And it also promoted better sleep for a couple of days without feeling groggy.

Valium is an old prescription drug for anxiety, depression and sleep disorder. It is very addictive to those that have addictive personalities. It has long outlived its positive affects as opposed to the negatives. Stop using valium!! It will only make your life worse in the long run. There are better things out there now. Quit Valium before it takes you and hurts your family because of you and it. In time you and Mr. V will become as one and you will regret it.

It's OK to take for a short time (a couple weeks) but you can get physically addicted to it if you take it longer. If you have a serious problem with insomnia may be you should go to a sleep disorder clinic. They can get to the root of the problem. Have you tried things like melatonin and valerian root to help you sleep? They're much safer than Valium.

i took valium for my back pain. I only took it at night because within 1 hour I was so sleepy I couldn't function. It will definitely make you sleep.

Diazempam is in the benzodiazepam class of drugs. It is habit forming and possibly addictive. It should not be used as a sleeping pill.
