The first and most important thing - establish your budget!

Then try and find a way to incorporate something from the person's life - like their career, hobbies or interests into a party theme. The theme doesn't have to be over the top, just something so that there is a theme.

If you want to have the party at a restaurant - make your guest list and then figure out if you need a private party space, or if there are not a lot of people then just one large table.

(It also might be good to have it at a restaurant so that they can help you with the planning.)

It doesn't matter what age, the best birthday parties involve good food and good friends! You want the person to feel special, so tell people to come prepared with a funny story or memory about the birthday boy/girl!

Become 60? No, I'm guessing you are planning or yourself or someone else? You need to make a list, things like: venue, guests, food, theme, budget etc. ENJOY!
