Hello everyone.. today is my 13th day on lexapro... it seems to be helping me slowly.. im still dealing with side effects like insomnia! But i was wondering.... i notice that i keep having the urge to urinate often... and when i do its just a little bit... and then i still feel like i have to go.. sometimes it hurts a little.. and is very uncomfortable..iv read that this could be a side effect... Has this happened to any of you?? and if so, will it stop soon???

Almost all antidepressants worsens the symptoms in the first 3 weeks of the treatment. Frequent urge to urinate is caused by anxiety. Stay on the drug, don't stop it. You will start to feel after 3 weeks. Lexapro (and all other antidepressants) takes 3 months to show the full benefits. Talk to your doctor about the problems, follow his/her advice.

I cannot find in the company's literature any listing of urinary problems as a side effect. Perhaps you have cystitis.
