I would call the several dentist offices. Many have ways of setting up a payment plan.

I just had this done. Of course it depends on where you are, but you most likely can see a dentist even without insurance. I don't have dental insurance, and my dentist charged my credit card an estimated amount up front. I ended up getting a $25 refund after the proceedure. He said he would also accept cash up front. For my wisdom teeth, I had 3 situations which cost 3 different prices. I had one that was fully errupted. That one cost $135. I had one that was partially erupted, and it cost $185, and I had 2 that were completely impacted. They cost $225 each. The IV sedation, which was optional, but which I highly recommend was $55. Call around and I'm pretty sure you'll find somebody who will let you pay up front. As an aside, I recommend a maxillofacial surgeon for a wisdom tooth extraction, especially if there's cutting to be done. They are set up for proceedures like this. I wish you the best.

He would have to discuss payment options with the dentist. If he has it done with just Novocaine, it would be about $250. If he has general anesthesia, then it's going to be MUCH more expensive--around $600-$800. The closest dental school is at UF in Gainesville.
If he is low income as well as having no insurance--then he can contact the Dade County department of health. If he qualifies, they will get him in to see a dentist.

I'm pretty sure a dentist there can see him without insurance, he should ask first how he can pay if he does not have all the payment. Dental offices always see patients without any insurance then there should be a way he can get his dental work done thru those offices, every office is different.

I don't know of any dentists who wouldn't take him in if he can pay and many are willing to work out payment plans. He should just call whatever dentist he is interested in and ask about a payment plan. He may even want to shop around for a better price.
