Use a distillation column.

The differences in vapor pressure are how you increase the amount of alcohol in the mixture.

Good Luck!

There are many copycat recipes for popular dessert liquors here are a few:
KAHLUA LIQUOR

1 qt. water
3 c. sugar
10 level tsp. freeze dried Folger's instant coffee

Simmer for 1 hour. Cool. Stir in 3 cups Vodka and 2 teaspoons vanilla. The longer you keep it bottled, the better.

IRISH CREAM LIQUOR

1 3/4 c. your favorite liquor (whiskey, brandy, rum, bourbon, scotch or rye)
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 pt. whipping or coffee cream
4 eggs
2 tbsp. chocolate flavored syrup
2 tsp. instant coffee
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract

In blender container, combine ingredients; blend until smooth. Serve over ice if desired. Store tightly covered in refrigerator up to 1 month. Stir before serving. Makes about 5 cups.

Pear Liquor

1/2 lb pears
1 1/2 c vodka
1/2 c sugar syrup (recipe follows)
1 pn cinnamon
1 pn nutmeg
1 clove
1 coriander seed
1 apple (optional)

SUGAR SYRUP
1 c white granulated sugar
1/2 c water

The bartlett pear is the best to use for liquor making. It is juicy, sweet and smooth. Avoid one with cuts, bruises, dark spots or decay.

Slice pears (and apple if desired) and add to other ingredients, adding sugar syrup last. Stir gently and steep 3 weeks. Strain and filter. Taste and adjust flavor by adding more fruit or sugar syrup if needed. Steep another 3-4 weeks, strain. Ready for use. Yield 1.5 pints. Container: Wide mouth 1/2 gallon jar.

SUGAR SYRUP: Boil together for about 5 minutes at a full boil and be sure the sugar dissolves. The syrup MUST BE COOL before adding to the alcohol mix as the heat evaporates the alcohol.

Then you could also make lovely infusions: http://chicken.allrecipes.com/HowTo/Homemade-Liqueurs/detail.aspx - to much to paste here
Good Luck! and Cheers!!
