Should be okay now but you really have to watch cats with string.

He's probably fine. The white stuff was mucus that lines his stomach and esophagus. Normally, I don't think you should pull a string out of a cat like that, but when it's really long there's a chance it won't be passed and create an intestinal blockage. In that case I probably would have done exactly what you did. Just keep an eye on him and call the vet if you see any abnormal behavior. Tidus obviously has a penchant for swallowing string, which some cats do, so you should make sure he doesn't get into any thread, ribbon, shoelaces, etc. Just keep that stuff in a drawer.

WOW thats one lucky kitty. Its very common that when a cat swallows a string it can sometimes wrap around the insides and cut them off causing their bodies to produce poisons from a dying organ. I think your cat is fine if you are more than positive that all of the string came out. Still keep an eye on her to make sure there is not vomiting or her personality has a dramatic change. For future advice NEVER pull a string out of any pets mouth or anus take them straight to a vet ASAP. Good luck

if your sure he threw the whole string, I think he's be OK. My cat did the same thing once with a twine string except it came out the other end. I didn't know she ate it and when it started coming out it scared her to death and she went flying threw the house with the string in her butt. She never had any ill effects from it.
If your worried, I'd call the vet just for peace of mind.

Wow! You were very lucky he got it up and you were able to get the rest out. Otherwise he could have needed surgery or died.
Do not use any tinsel to decorate your Christmas tree - that is VERY dangerous. Thread and needles are dangerous too so if you sew be sure that all those things are put away when you finish.
Just watch the little tyke. If he is eating OK, still active etc. he will be alright.

He should be just fine, but if he keeps acting sluggish I'd call the vet.
A couple months ago our small dog swallowed the tape from a cassette. We had to pull it out. . . .completely disgusting. But she made a full recovery.

His body rejected it, so he should be perfect if you do notice its a lot shorter than before you should worry. But if puppies and kittens died of eating objects like strings the dog and cat population would be extinct O.o scary thought.
Anyway just be a little more careful!

As long as he doesn't have anything else inside him, he's fine. Just watch him to make sure nothing happens, but since the string is out he may be better.

He should be fine. Animals throw up a lot of things they eat that they shouldn't. Cats are pretty tough too.

He's fine. You worry when the string doesn't come out of him.
