Muhammed had four wives, and several children. That is what the problem between the Sunni and Shiite forms of Islam is about.

After Muhammed's life on earth was over; one group wanted the next caliphate to be a direct descendent of Muhammed. and the other group installed another man as Caliphate.

If you read the Gnostic scriptures that was found in Nag Hammadi; it tells that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were maried, and Mary Magdalene was pregnant at the time of the crucifiction.

There are other stories that Mary Magdalene went to France abd gave birth to a daughter named Sarah (you know. The Davinci code)

Muhammed had children, but his only surviving child was his daughter, Fatima Zahra. She married Ali ibn Abi Talib, an orphan who Muhammed had cared for, and they had two sons, Hassan and Hussein. Hassan died first and Hussein died later, during the battle of Karbala. His son was also killed. Although many of their family members died, some were enslaved and survived. There are still descendants today, quite a few, who claim that they are descended from Muhammed in this way or through other branches of his family. Most claims are pretty dubious. The royal family of Jordan, the Hashemite Kingdom, are some of the most famous descendants, and you can see the family tree on their website.

According to Christian tradition, Jesus Christ was never married and had no children. The Prophet Muhammad, on the other hand, was married to several wives and had numerous children. Today there are thousands of people around the world who claim to be direct descendants of the Prophet Muhammad.

The Prophet Jesus had no children, while the Prophet Muhammad had no sons. They are obviously passed away, but the lineage must exist somewhere.

Seeing how they both say that all life is sacred and that all men are created equal...even if they do have kids, I don't see how it matters.
