Oh, that is bad. I know because last Easter, I was tested for meningitis. It's basically done just like a spinal only they take fluid out of your spine then take the needle out. I developed a HORRIBLE migraine for 4 days and couldn't sit up. I'd get a little relieve if I layed down. I had to go to the ER and have a blood patch done. That's when the doctor goes into the same hole that was already there from the spinal and insert your own blood into to create a clot to stop the spinal fluid from leaking.. Let me tell ya!! Instant relief!!! The blood patch really isn't that bad at all. There's little pain involved with it. Besides, when you have a migraine that bad, you'll do anything to get rid of it! :-) After the patch, your lower back will feel like someone kicked you but, that goes away quick too. Good luck!!!! I hope you feel better soon!!! :-)

This is common. Anytime a needle is introduced into the spinal column there is going to be some pressure built up inside. The headache will continue until the pressure is released. It usually takes a week or so. If it persists, seek professional help.

I would call the doc for sure. You most likely have what is called a spinal headace. It is when there is a leakage of spinal fluid from the area that the needle was inserted. Some docs will watch it for a couple of days, but you may have to have another procedure to block the leak. Definitely call!!

If you had a spinal, it is possible that the spinal is the culprit of your headache. Tell your doc about it and see if there is anything he can prescribe.

I assume since you had a spinal that you were awake and not intubated. I was under general anesthetic recently and when they intubated me really messed my jaw up. That had caused me headaches. I went to a chiropractor for that and felt *much* better afterward.

You could have a spinal headache. If it hurts more when you are upright than laying down, then that is possible. Tell your Dr. and they can fix it with another small injection where you had your spinal.

Call your surgeon. It is not uncommon to have a severe headache after a spinal. They should be able to advise you as to how to treat it. Best of luck in your recovery.

Headaches are the response to different causes, both physical (strain or bugs) and mental. Most chronic headaches are mental or have a mental component. The three main causes of headaches are Anger, Guilt, Stress or Allergy. I hope your headache gets better and get well soon.

You will have to talk to your doctor about that. You may have a leak in your spinal column. It happens. They may need to do a blood patch to fix it.

Let your doctor know about it and prescribe medication accordingly or modify what you are taking.
