Hiring and firing, and the running of personnel record-keeping, benefits administration, and the like. We used to call them Personnel Officers, but someone decided Human Resources was a more PC term than Personnel, and here we are. The English language evolves.

They deal with the day to day organisation of finding and firing employees. They used to be called Personnel Officers.

Very little - They are sh*t and you have to be thick to be employed as one (no offense to anyone and this is just my experience in the orgnisation i work for!!)
