I have relatives that have this problem, for one some of the hypo allergenic earrings have nicklel in them. There is a catalog called Whispers, these earrings are the best, be sure you are turning your earrings, several times a day, and cleaning with either peroxide or alcohol.
To see if you are allergic to nickel, tape a nickle to like the under side of your arm , where your under arm meets your body, I am not sure how long you need to leave it there, but I would say at least 15 to 20 min. You can check after 5, 10, 15, if the area is red, looks like it broke out, blotchy, or itchy, you are allergic to nickel, my sister worked as an operating technician, the only thing at that time she could use was surgical steel. Her ears go so bad, that it would break out on her neck and then spread to her arms, etc. So take the time to find out exactly what is in your earrings, 24 karat gold, isn't always that, it could have just been plated. Because my sister could wear 24 karat gold earrings, but they came from a jewelry store, not a Wal Mart or Shop Ko, and she told them why she needed them. But I do know, that both of my sisters were able to wear the Whisper earrings, you might be able to find them in the store, but it is rare. If all else fails before you end up with a skin condition, like my sister did. Let them grow shut. I never got my ears pierced because my sisters ended up with ecezma, from having there ears pierced. The condition was in the family, but, they never had a problem with it until they got there ears pierced. I am not saying it will happen to you, but I wear beautiful clip earrings, and nobody knows the difference unless I tell them, try Younkers, or JC Penny, those kind of stores. But clip ons are getting harder and harder to find.
Good luck to you
Try looking on the internet for the Whispers Catalog. I will check it out and if I can find it I will let you know, send me your email address, mine is mar52_mom_72@yahoo.com

Well since I found it, just email me if you have any other questions. Oh, one other thing, do you have problems with other jewelry, or belt buckles, rings, where you break out, or itch. That is a true sign you are allergic to metals, and then you need to get tested to find out from which ones. My niece breaks out from belt buckles. So we go there the tied rope belts with a plastic loop instead of the metal works for her, and no more breaking out.

I had the same problem. I had had my ears pierced like 10 times with every different metal. An old boss suggested titanium, and 5 years of so later my ears are still fine. I had to leave them in longer before I switched them and I don't put cheap metals in them still and that seems to work out just fine.

1. After washing your hair, apply peroxide.
2. Thoroughly clean earrings and backs prior to use.
3. Don't share earrings with people.
4. Clean ears in the morning and at night prior to bed.
I've done this for years and never had any problems, and I have very sensitive ears.

Your ear could be having a reaction to the type of earring that you've put in it. Try a small stud made out of something made especially for sensitive ears, or if you have solid gold earrings, try that. For cleaning, I suggest hot water mixed with salt.

Keep them clean. I clean my holes with alcohol and the earring posts and backs. I take care of my daughter's ears the same way.
My sister can not wear earrings. She has tried everything and her's just keep getting infected. She hates it but that's how it has to be.

Make sure that you clean them regularly and keep rotating the earrings!
If your ears are already pierced, and the holes are established, you might try putting Neosporin on the studs of the earrings when you put them on. I have very sensitive ears and must do this, or my ears become inflamed.
Good luck!

Well i've had my ears piersed for years now and at time they get infected. What I do is clean them everyday some times 2 times a day with hydrogen peroxide. At these times I wear gold rings. I think your problem might be that your alergic to real rings try fake ones.

Can you take your earrings out at night so that your ears can be exposed to air? That may help. Only wearing 24 karat gold earrings would be good also. Or, buying earrings that are nickel free may help.

Make sure you're not getting hair products on your piercings (i.e. hairspray). Do not play with them. Do sea salt soaks. Use anti-bacterial soap (like Dial).
