I have guy friend from the Phillipines who has a gf back there. They are engaged and the last time he saw her was last November(Nov. 2005). He plans on seeing her in October 2007 and he sends money to her so they can buy a condo there.

i'm all for long distance relationships if they're special (i've been in one over two years) but that's a looong time to go without seeing someone. if they're talking on the phone all the time i could see it helping, but marriage shouldn't be on their minds just yet. they have no idea how they're going to react with the other person on a day-to-day basis. so if they're working at it, being faithful, and actually keeping in contact, then yeah, it should be pretty healthy. However, given the lack of time they've spent together, an engagement isn't really the best idea at this point. i've been dating long distance w the same person for over 2 years, and we've spent a little more than three months with each others' company, and even then the engagement is just being planned.

not exactly... it is too far away and dont see each other enough. It could possibly work out well, but neither one knows what the other is doing and by the time they get to see each other they will have forgotten each other.. I guess

It sounds like they have a well rounded plan for their future in place. Leave him alone.

Why do you care? Get your own life. If it works for them, then it's healthy. Stop meddling into his life.

You should not be involved with him if he is focused on someone else. It's a drain on your emotions and you don't deserve to be used like that!
