For devotional book; tru "God's little instruction plan" or subscribe to "Open Windows" These are released every 3 months.
For a bible; I would recommend either the New International Bible, or the New American Satandard Bible.
I recommend the NIV highest because they did not re-translate the King James version as others have. They went back to the Greek and Hebrew scriptures they could find and translated it into todays language.

would suggest a KJV being that it is the closest translation to the hebrew texts and he will get more out of it. also look into daily devotionals like "daily bread" they are free and can open questions for him to search gods word....you are an exemplary parent by the way...god bless you for taking care of the gift god gave you

i'm an atheist or maybe i think of that's out of line for them to try this. colleges should not be coaching or advertising any faith, yet your son is legally allowed to envision the Bible if its for the duration of inner maximum reading time and he's no longer disrupting the class. seek for advice from the ACLU for help. or in simple terms tell the college which you have contacted a attorney...in the event that they hear the be conscious "lawsuit", they are going to provide in.

The NKJV is my current favorite.
Oswald Chambers (not a Catholic, but a great writer) wrote "My Utmost for His Highest". That is the classic devotional book....for all ages.
