No man can enter the kingdom of God except he be born again.

-Jesus

Being born again means having 'new life'.

believe in your heart Jesus is the Son of God
Confess before men that He is the Lord

That's your ticket to heaven. Not good works. The Grace of God.

And if you really are born again, you know it. It's not a emotional event. It's real. At that moment, he comes into your heart, and your life. I expierienced it, and so did every other born again Christian

I'd say they're the ones going to Heaven :)

I've said this a lot... Jesus didn't come to start Christianity, he came to save souls. So a born again Christian should be the same as a Christian.

Define the second part of the question regular Christianity. I would say that Christianity is a group so to say Christians collectively. Webster's defines it as a state of being a Christian. The term born again refers to a symbolic statement to me, refering to a new life when you accept Christ as your personnal Lord and Savior. Comming from a person that in my old self (my worldly birth so to speak) I was into so many splatters , like I got deeply involved in numerous things including but not limited to cocaine, destroying relationships , finances, jobs, status, opportunity, just to name a few.
When I came back to the Lord ,repented and made my amends, and started to try to clean up some of my messes, I gave everything(everything being just that) to Him. I call that "born again" . When you do that , anyone who does that ,, you will have all you will ever need or want..........check out 2John 5 All I can say is check out His Word because mine cannot compare but I will promise you everything you truly ask Him to reveal to us you can find the answers there

Born again is one illustration of many of salvation by Jesus. It is linked with saving faith and people are saved as they glorify God leaning on the work of Jesus on the cross, believing for eternal life. The born again part emphasizes a change in them caused by God, the adoption, the sealing of the spirit, the changing process they are on which will produce necessary fruit and evidence of salvation to some extent in their lives They confess Jesus as Lord and believe in the God who raised Jesus from the dead, and they are spiritually raised and changed by the same power

'born again', is from an illustration of salvation of Jesus to Nicodemus in John 3 "Unless you are born from above you will not enter the kingdom of heaven" in John 3

I do not think it means simply be baptized since there were people not baptized like the thief on the cross who entered heaven, similarly people received the Holy Spirit before during and after baptism in Acts and the Holy Spirit is a seal of salvation There is also a case of the followers of John the baptist who were re baptized in Acts, they had a baptism of John and then in their case had a baptism of Jesus

John 3 is the first big teaching of Jesus in the book of John and therefor in a sense the first extended deep pitch of the book as to what Jesus taught. In the end all real Christians must believe in a rebirth the alternative to not believing in a rebirth is in a sense rejecting the teaching of Jesus

now does the phrase 'born again' ever get abused - probably
and is everyone who claims to be 'born again' actually saved... probably not. But it is a biblical and important phrase.

As Jesus talked with Nicodemus, He said "...Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again...." (John 3:3-7).
The phrase "born again" literally means "born from above." Nicodemus had a real need. He needed a change of his heart--a spiritual transformation. New birth, being born again, is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1-4, 18). John 1:12,13 indicates that "born again" also carries the idea "to become children of God" through trust in the name of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8,9 states, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast." When one is "saved," he/she has been born again, spiritually renewed, and is now a child of God by right of new birth.

What gives you the idea that there are two different kinds here? To be born again is to become a Chrsitian which is what Chrsitianity is all about. There is not such thing as "regular christianity" Christianity is a way of life for those who accepted Jesus as their personal Savior, repented of their sins, and turned their lives over to Jesus, and live according to God's word.. Those who can't live up to that are considered reprobates.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; "BUT HE THAT DOITH THE WILL OF MY FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN"

To claim to be a christian and to now live according to the word of God and at least do your very best to try to live up to God's laws, ( He knows how hard you are actually trying), you are just making empty claims which mean absolutely nothing.

Born again basically means this religion for gives you for all your wrong doings........... That is why most convicts become born again ...... Thinkabout it you just spent 20 years in jail and now you find GOD a GOD that has forgiven you for your crimes nad beleives you are reborn to a better person.

Born again is a soteriological term used primarily in the Evangelical, Fundamentalist, and Pentecostal branches of Protestant Christianity, where it is associated with salvation, conversion and spiritual birth. Outside of these circles, the term is often applied by extension to other phenomena, including a transcending personal experience – or the experience of being spiritually reborn (as opposed to spiritual birth).
