Blood tests aren't always perfect, there is a margin of error with them. Some are also more specific, while others are more sensitive, it all depends on the test they are running. I don't know for sure what tests your doctor has run, probably the standard ones, so then I have to ask if they have run an antibody test. Sometimes the standard TSH and free T4 come back normal, when there is an autoimmune problem. So, if your doctor has not already done an antibody and free T3 test, that would be a good next step. If he has, then an endocrinologist would be a good person to see next. They will be better prepared to spot any problems with your thyroid you might be having.
Also, I'm guessing you have other symptoms than the irregular periods, but that isn't necessarily part of the thyroid problem. It could be, it couldn't be. If the endocrinologist says you don't have thyroid problems, you might try looking somewhere else. A lot of hormone problems have a nasty tendency of looking like a different hormone problem, and take a while to find.

EDIT: It depends on your insurance. Some will let you make your own appointment with a specialist, some make you get a referral from your original doc. Either way will work. If you're not sure about the insurance, you might as well just go through your doc.

Bloodtests can be wrong, but there are tons of things that have symptoms like hypothyroidism. Having irregular periods is incredibly common. Being tired at that age is incredibly common. Etc.

First of all, irregular periods at your age are not uncommon and being 16, I'm sure you have a very busy life. A thyroid test CAN be wrong, becuase not everyone has the same levels. The test is only a guidline for "acceptable" levels. Go to www.hormone.com for more info.

you know my uncles wife got sick all the time she felt weak, and had allergies year round, when she went to the doctor they could not find anything wrong with her, i think that is the way your body is you know, like people who have acne but see a dermatologist, but it doesn't go away, it goes on the chemistry of your body.
