In the UK, blood is often taken and might be used for a HIV test, but this is done on an anonymous basis. They just use it to test levels in the general population and would not tell you the results. Permission has to be given by you for an HIV test that you get told the results of, because there are implications for insurance policies etc if you have one, even if the result is negative.
So you can never assume that you don't have HIV just because you have had a blood test at some point.

Certainly ni UK they may only test without consent in a "blind test" - so if they wanted to find out how many blood samples were HIV+ they would NOT need your consent BUT it would be totally annonymous. By the time the result came back, it would only be referred to by an untracable numbers:
Eg: just enough to identify enough for statistics: hospital, gender, date.
In the UK if you want to know you HIV status, you need to ask for it. Only exception is if you give blood and are HIV+, they can turn up at the door and tell you not to give blood again because you are HIV+
A REALLY bad way to "test for HIV".

I don`t know about operations and procedures but i know for a fact when pregnant a sample of your blood is tested for HIV and you are offered whether or not you would like to know the results .
I think they do it during pregnancy for statistical reasons and also for babies care should mum be positive .

There's no telling these days. For a minimally-invasive operation
where a small incision is made, probably not unless one of the
hospital staff somehow comes in contact with your blood.
When you are admitted to the hospital they will give you a
consent form to sign. Usually there will be something on there
about under what circumstances they will test and who will be
notified of the results.

No..if they did not inform you or you did not sign any consent. This is a very confidential test. If the patient has no particular risk of infecting other people, they will not askk you to be tested (unlike if you are donating blood..they will surely test you for this) but in operations they will just test you for necessary blood tests like CBC, PT, or APTT.Hope this helps. God bless

In maximum state you would be able to desire to sign for a HIV test, it is not in simple terms performed. have you ever ever been shown? you do no longer think of you have it yet you do no longer would desire to comprehend! Why??? in case you had HIV and did no longer comprehend you may finally come down with some style of opportunistic infections and could be very unwell, and it would desire to be very problematic to get larger. for people who test and have been HIV+ you would be able to desire to manage to get on passable drugs that would shield you healthful for an incredibly long term. i comprehend the concept of being HIV+ is frighting, yet whilst adult men and ladies folk detect and look after it the passable of their existence is basically larger. to no longer element out are you sexually energetic? What approximately your spouse might you opt for to would desire to infect a guy or woman which you like?

not in the uk. you have to agree to the test and consent. all tests should be discussed with you before they are done, unles in emergency situations. discuss it with your doc if need more info.
