Yes, I've seen it and the reason the South Park people put that information on the screen is because they thought people would think they were just making it up, but that really IS what they believe.

I know South Park pokes fun at a lot of people, organizations, etc... but they often throw truth in with the satire. Whenever they had the words "this is what Scientologists actually believe" superimposed onto the screen, they were NOT being satirical. This is what Scientologists ACTUALLY believe:

Xenu was an alien ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of people to Earth in spacecrafts resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes & blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together & stuck to the bodies of the living. The alien souls continue to do this today, causing a variety of physical ill-effects in modern-day humans. L. Ron Hubbard (a science-fiction writer & the creator of Scientology) called these clustered spirits "Body Thetans," & the advanced levels in Scientology place considerable emphasis on isolating them & neutralizing their ill effects.

To rid ourselves of "Body Thetans" & also “engrams” (past negative experiences stored in our unconscious mind) so that we can become “clear”, we have to go through "auditing" with a member of the “church” who uses an "e-meter" to measure our “reactive mind”...... & we have to pay lots & lots & lots of money for “auditing” (purchased in 12.5-hour blocks, costing anywhere from $750 for introductory sessions to between $8,000 & $9,000 for advanced sessions) & to take courses on Scientology to advance to higher “levels” in the “church”. The “church” has also taken a very hostile stance towards psychiatry & psychiatric drugs irrespective of the fact that some people require medication to remain adequately functional in everyday life. They deny the reality of chemical imbalance & profound mental disturbance & accordingly do NOTHING to effectively stabilize the dangerously unstable. The “church” has been known to withhold prescription pharmaceuticals from member (with deadly results).

It is a CULT.

I am a Scientologist. I can only say that getting your
information about a religion from "South Park" (!) and various bogus websites will not give you an accurate concept of what it is about. Actually if you have seen any other South Park Episodes you will observe that the writers are not particular about which religions or individuals they riducule under the guise of "TV cartoon satire". Seems to me that the writer have many "issues" with religion in general . Scientology is just one of many they have attempted to make look ridiculous for "laughs". Obviously they are making lots of money from this agenda so I'm sure they are also "laughing".
I for one am not going to even bother to "defend" my religion against this utter rubbish.

Just for the record , here is a pretty good description of what the religion of Scientology is about :

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew,for example and still use and apply the priniciples of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from using it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. The developement of the technology is new.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable estate., when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 8 million Scientologists in more that 150 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 55 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

Note the absense of any "belief" in aliens....
You should to be aware that there can often be a "hidden agenda" when you are using a broad communication line like the media, internet or TV as your ONLY source of data. You would need to actually take a look for yourself to really know about something . This applies to those who have"gleefully" answered you with "Yes that's what they believe".

How the hell would they know ????
Oh yes I forgot..... they must know because they watched the same TV show you did!!!!
Please note:
This last is an example of SATIRE and SARCASM (a lower form) .

Yes its all true although South Park is hardly the source to claim facts from (if ever you get into an argument with a Scientologist). It was a hilarious episode too wasn't it? And it was exactly right about Scientologist belief. So to summarize:

-> Evil lord Xenu captures and freezes billions of aliens and ships them to Earth in DC-8 look-a-like planes except with jet engines.

-> He puts the aliens in Earth volcanoes and blows them up with hydrogen bombs.

-> The dead aliens' souls rise up but get caught by Xenu's soul capturing device.

-> He then forces the alien souls to watch "propoganda" - things we know to be true like the existence of ancient civilisations.

-> Xenu lets the souls go and they inhabit the bodys of the humans of the time. The souls are now called Body Thetans.

-> The Body Thetans are responsible for making us sad, depressed, upset, ill, etc.

-> By giving your money, time and life to the Church of Scientology they will zap your body with an E-Meter to rid you of those pesky Body Thetans and cure you... for a price that is.

All this was started by a broke science fiction (L. Ron Hubbard) writer but still people are retarded enough to believe it, especailly considering the source. I mean he gets paid to write this stuff, yet they take it as true.

Yup, like most religions they have some weird ideas about what to believe. But somehow, aliens from outer space does seem a bit more plausible that the clever talking serpents of some other religions.

It is essentially the belief system of Scientologists. The show was actually relatively accurate in describing the beliefs.
