OK I am going to say it- REGISTRY REGISTRY REGISTY.
You know she wants it and doesn't have it....
I really want my china pattern and when people ask me, that's what I tell them. Maybe ask her if she doesn't have one or give her a check for the money. I know it doesn't seem personal but my house is filling up with personal crap I don't want and can't take back, I much rather have things that I like, that are my style and what I want. Not a orange candy dish that is granted very nice but doesn't match anything.....
Oh and stay away from egraved stuff...... I have like 10 boxes with my name engraved on them and you can't return them!!

Normally, I would ask people what they want. Being your best friend, you should know better what she doesn't have. Another way is, wait until everything ends, then decide what to buy her at a later date. She might be disappointed but save the best for last!

Lot of poeple give them what they think is needed. But most of the time they are wrong. Money is the universal gift card that is acceptable in all stores. So money is better

Give her the money or depending on where you/she lives a small all expenses paid long weekend vacation to a more upscale location, to use during their first year of marriage.

Coming from a recently wed person......Nothing tops money!!!

All jokes aside!!! there is not one newleywed couple who opened an envelope after the ceremony and said

"Damn....more money".....This has got to stop"

Really, give cash....it takes all the quess work out of it and newlyweds are broke as hell after the wedding. They could also use it on their honeymoon too.

Hi, I think that some nice cushions or a set of towels, these would be very useful and when they use them they would think of you kindly. Either that or a clock, musical or something, something that stands out really

Maybe she has a gift registry at several dept stores, listing what they want- like China, Silverware, etc..... you could get her something from her list.

You could give the cash instead, so they can buy what they really wanted to start off with their married life.

I would suggest just giving them the money. Then they can spend it on anything they want. :)
