This is personally speaking, but a second date for me might include a trip around town starting out at a local coffee house. They have a nice charm about them. They're tucked away from the big time book stores and many in my area have coffee shops. You can sit down thumb through books and drink coffee. Its a great place to talk.
From there maybe a walk around town checking out all the hidden treasures of the city. Part ways then meet up later in the day to grab something to eat before heading off to the local pub to take in some great music.

Or ski trips are always fun. If have a dog a trip to the local park might be the way to go.

Best of luck

It all depends on the woman, but some like men who do show some initiative and things planned out as well as there are some that feel like like they shoudl tell the man where they want to go. I

I would say go to a nice comedy club, those are always good, if you have some in your area. Go to the club together. Some people say "never take sand to the beach" but if you like the girl and you're feeling each other, why not? I've done it with my guy several times and we've always had a great time. And yes, if all else fails go to dinner & a movie.

GO ahead and ask her, but give some suggestions when you do.

Go ice skating, or grab some hot chocolate, Christmas movies, and snuggle on the couch. Decorate one of the two of your homes for the holidays. Go to a play, there are usually several small productions this time of year because of all the holiday plays. Hit a museum or gallery (if it is a good sized museum, check if they have a podcast). If it isn't cold, a walk is great, especially if there are lights up.

Sometimes at the zoo they will have like a festival of lights. They allow you to come in and walk around and you can see the Christmas lights and look at some of the animals. Have hot chocolate and stuff like that. Very nice thing to do. I would ask her if she wants to go out and then tell her you have a surprise for her and don't tell her where you are going. I think girls like it (I know I do) when I get surprised like that. I wouldn't want the guy to call the shots all the time but occasionally when it is done like this it makes me feel like he cared enough to try to do something nice for me. Good luck and have fun on the second date.

I know it sounds very corny but if this girl is into the holidays, I suggest you do some holiday crafts. Get all the material together and have it all ready to go. Either take her out to dinner or make dinner yourself and then make an ornament or something like that.

A walk sounds great if you've somewhere nice to go. Not if you're in the middle of the arctic winter.
How about go shoot pool? Or go to a museum? Or see a play in a small theatre?

If there's an indoor skiing/snowboarding track near by, you can go skiing or snowboarding. If you know how to ski or snowboard you can teach her, if you don't know you can get some lessons together. And afterwards you can get a hot cup of chocolate or coffee and talk about your great day. Good luck!

Ice skating; building a snowman (or woman); sledding; baking gingerbread cookies. Ask her what her favorite winter activity is.

How about making her dinner, then playing Scrabble after wards? Or go to a play or musical type performance.
