It means:
If a person encounters something they do not like or agree with and or their friends or company do not agree with or like, this person will immediately reject this object/subject of irritation.
In the extreme case they will sought to destroy the outlier simply because they or their peers see it as not acceptable.

If someone says something that is different from a person's opinion or the opinion that all their friends have (because that person is too stupid or lazy to create his/her own opinion), they will just ignore or disregard that opinion.
