Well to keep your precious babes there is a little unwise. Seen as you are getting no joy from your landlord why not involve the big hitters like the social services and the environmental health...that will do the trick sweetheart. They are there to help, not just to poke their nose into your affairs. Your arguement carries clout because of the youngsters involved.
Just do it.

Get in touch with your local housing standards department - it's a department of your local council. They can force the landlord to do the repairs. If your landlord still refuses, the council will do the repairs, then bill the landlord. He'll most likely be fined by the environmental health department. This is exactly what I had to do, I had the same problem that had been going on a for a very long time. It was sorted out within days of reporting as this is a very serious health issue. Don't delay any more - get on the phone now!!!!!!

1) Keep on at your Landlord. It is his property that YOU are paying to stay in, therefore his responsibility to maintain the property. Keep on and inform him that your children are suffering because of this situation. Obviously this damp has manefested and has been around for a while, so most probably insulation within the carpets and walls needs to be looked at.
2) Try a dehumidifier. They can help and you can get them in argos.
3) Citizens Advice bureau may be able to shed some light on the matter. However, idealy, your Landlord needs to pull his finger out and do something, especially if your children are becoming ill.
Hope it all goes okay.

Go to the council and they will be able to help. If you can, try and move out to a friends or family as mould can cause many illnesses including breathing problems - especially in children.
You should not take any risks with this.
Good Luck!

How about your local health department ,will they test it? Get it tested and get away from it! Mould can cause some serious sickness and should be removed by qualified people only. Maybe the local authorities can force your land lord to fix it.

call and talk to your local health department. If there is a leak causing this, the landlord must pay for the repair.
You can also pay for some repairs yourself, especially if it is a health issue and then deduct it from your rent.
Notify your landlord prior to doing that, as he may get it done first to try to save money.

it could be there is wetness under the property, and its coming inside. that much mold etc is not good. i would think. you should talk to him again and show him where the mold is and tell him to do something about it or you will take it to someone else, like the health dept. this does not sound safe at all. if it should go to the health dept, they may have you move out or maybe they can do something about it.its probably coming from that pipe .leaking.good luck

your landlord should pay to have your property damp coursed. My husband is a roofer and deals with this sort of thing. The longer this problem is left the worse it will get.
