well its a long story to put a long story short we have had a really bad year this year me and my husband cant aford to buy any christmas for anyone h
and dont have the money to have christmas dinner how can i tell everyone that we cant aford anything this year? can anyone give me any addvice?

When I was little before I worked I had no money and my siblings and myself all made each other's presents. One was a simple paper plate with cotton balls and red paper for a Santa's head. My grandparents made it through the depression and my family has this cheap skate mentality, so when I find myself pressed for time or money, I'll just make a card. I like it better because it comes from my heart, and they know it.
Put your pride in your pocket, and tell the gossipist one then everyone will know. Years after my other gramma passed someone remembered her saying all she got for Xmas was an orange and she said truely that was her best Xmas times. It's about family silly.

You know what you have to do... its not going to be easy but let everyone know that money is tight and xmas in your home is going to be the bare minimum... everybody has been in that situation some time or another... so don't feel bad... just tell them... and maybe things will be different next year and you can make it up to everyone... this will bother you more than it will bother others... I am sure they all know your $$$ situation... so I don't think it will be a surprise to them... Hope things get better for you...

Telling is the best solution. But if you don't want that, you can ask people to all bring some thing. Say you want to have a different Christmas this year. This way everybody brings something to drink and to eat and you don't have to tell everyone you don't have the money. Good luck!

Just be honest. Christmas is still supposed to be about spending the time together, not what you can give each other. I am sure that people wlll understand that you are going through bad times and that you're not simply choosing to avoid the gift-giving. Being honest with them is the best thing to do and they should be understanding. My wife and I haven't been able to buy Christmas presents for about 3 years. We just explained our situation to the family and they were all very kind and considerate about it. Christmas is about being together with family and friends more than it is about presents.

I have had similar situations in my past! Trust me you can't hide it! You can't invite people to your house and not have anything to give. Be upfront with everyone and they can't get mad at you! They might even help you out with the preasents! Your not a charity case your just stuck right now and all you need is some help to get out of the sticky-ness!!
