What I am about to suggest is not environmentally friendly but it will kill the tree. (boooooohooooooo)........Sorry for the tree, but here it goes:
Break open a thermometer. Carefully get the mercury out in a syringe. Inject it at the base of the tree. It will start to die in about a couple of weeks. Booooooo hooooooo.................

This is a real easy one. Just buy a shovel, and 8 bags of table salt, skip the iodine, hehe. Dig a circle around the tree about 1-2 feet deep. Now pour the salt in this hole. Spray a little water on it too. Finally cover the whole using the same grass and dirt you just removed. Within a week you should literally see a shriveled up tree. Might have to wait until it rains for quicker action. However, part of the yard will also be destryoyed forever or until someone hauls that dirt out of there and its replaced. Only an idiot wouldn't suspect some foul play no matter what is done. I am sure a huge drill bit and you could drill some holes into base of the tree at an angle towards the roots. Then pore something like copper sulfate down there or maybe try arsenic. It needs to be something extremely toxic and that will spread and kill off everything. Cutting a circle around the bark would be simpler, but noticeable. However you could maybe glue fake bark chips back on. Not sure if it would still work. Maybe if the bark chips had salt glued to their backs. Yes that should work and be secret!

Before you can kill the tree,whose property is it on?
If you don't own the property,you can't do it and if you get caught,you can face charges starting with tresspassing and tresspassing to commit a crime.
Since you want to do it secretly,I have to asume you don't own the property.
If the owner won't agree to the removal of the tree,then you and the other people be able to take legal action to have it removed.

If you really want to kill a full grown tree cut it down but if not than heres a more subtle way...simply remove all the bark from around the trunk of the tree....starve the tree of nutrients....kill the tree
