I can't believe the doctor didn't prescribe any kind of medication after diagnosing you with depression!! You need to find another doctor ASAP!

Yes, depression can make you feel like you can't love anyone or anything. Your brain gets a chemical imbalance and doesn't produce enough endorphins, which is what you need to feel love and happiness. Your depression may just be situational (some stresses in your life are causing it, and when that goes away the depression will subside). Or it may be chronic (you'll need continued medication to keep the depression under control). Get a second opinion from another doctor and ask him lots of questions. My best to you, there is hope! And kudos to your BF for being there for you!

See a different Dr. Get a second opinion! If the Dr. diagnosed you with it, has he at least told you to start seeing a therapist or couneslor? - Doesn't matter - get a second opinion! He should be treating you somehow in someway!

What has caused your depression? Do you know if it is regular depression and for good reasons then maybe I could see him not treating you for it and just let it run it's course but if you are depressed and don't know why or have no reason to be and now you feel the way you do about your bf maybe your bf brought on the depression and you have felt this way toward him for awhile but it is now just surfacing.?!.

I don't think I'd do anything about your bf just yet, get a second opinion. You may be feelings things that are false as well if you are depressed and really don't even feel the way you are right now...You may need the support he is offereing you besides if you want a relationship with him you can have one with him it isn't going to matter if you have depression or bipolar or someother disorder or health issue. If you want to be with him, be with him, if you don't, don't! But give it some time and be sure you really know what it is you want and that your feelings won't change later!

Good luck!

It's not just depression you have, in fact the depression is probably a side effect of the recent difficulties you've been having.
There is no shame in seeing a psychologist. It most certainly will help. You don't want to be taking medication for depression when there are other resolutions.

that is one of the signs of clinical depression is lack of sex or love. You need to be on some meds if you are serious depressed. I think you need to take one day at a time and do everything you can in that one day. Switch doctors too.

Yes, that is common. And see another doctor or get a referral to a mental health professional.

Depression IS NOT A DISEASE. It's just a state of mind, and since everyone has the power to control his/her own mind, the solution is very simple.

You wanna get healed?? Go and have a tour in a hospital, see people who are REALLY ill, who haven't been given the chance to LIVE and SURVIVE, who can't even walk, or see, or breathe without being in terrible pain, go then to a third world country and SEE children dying from hunger, from HIV, and then I WANNA SEE IF YOU'LL HAVE STILL THE NERVE TO BE DEPRESSED!!! Shame on you! Your behavior disrespects all those who are really ill and hopeless! You've been given a big gift: the chance to live, wasting it is a SIN, a real one!
