There is no Mother of the church. Jesus is the head of the church, he is the bridegroom and we the church are his bride.

There is no "mother of the universe" no "queen of the saints" Mary is not sinless (she said she needed a savior), she has sex with joseph after Jesus was born (bible says Joseph did not 'know' her UNTIL Jesus was born) and Jesus was her "firstborn" not only born son. The greek is clear on this-there's a greek word for firstborn and only born-bible uses firstborn.

I was raised Baptist and I never heard of any Mother of the church. Where did you get that from?

"Mother of the Church" at our Baptist church is just the oldest female member. She has usually been there for many years or has most of her children while at the church. This is just a made up title. It really has no biblical significance to my knowledge.
