Ah yes, the voices! George Bush said that God told him to invade Iraq, pity he didn't also tell him that there wasn't any Weapons of Mass destruction. And the Yorkshire Ripper insists that he clearly heard Jesus tell him to kill all those women. Why should you believe anyone who tells you they have heard the "voice of God"?

the reason prophets do not tell you what God lets them in on is given in Steven's speech to the San Hedron b4 they have him stoned. He said which of God's prophets did you not strone. Prophets are messengers from God and what they have to tell us will just put them in danger. It used to be there was some honor in relating the message and dieing but in todays society the words of God fall on deaf ears, connected to mouths who say God does not speak to us so the guy is an imposter, etc. Then they continue in their foul manner using power and words to tickle the ears of followers who only want to hear what they already believe. If a preacher points out that gossip runs rampant in the church the gossips get him removed, and such as that. People here are not interested in change and growth and so they drink milk and have no taste for omaha staeks.
You want the word that God is screaming at us today. Here it is.
Your pulpits are full of greedy men who would rather build a building in which to speak than to feed the unwanted child, they let gossips talk their own way to hell while organizing against those outside the Body, while their own garments are filthy rags.
Were you not told how to pick your teachers, were you not given directions on how to hold each other accountable??? Yet u argue about days you will never see and proclaim the alarm about others you have not taken the time to love or understand. Is this what u were told, to lord your unmerited favor over those in need. Were you not told that the love of money is at the root of problems yet you hoard it charge interest, abuse power. Just because the poor will be with you always does not mean that our body should be desecrated by those who waste what the poor would use to nourish their children. Your capital has many homeless and your elected leaders squander riches on lavish debauchery and the body watches idly by and your leaders harrase the perverse . You are a wicked generation and this is your last chance to use that which you have been blessed with responsibly b4 this land is returned to those you stole it from.
The word translated as the Word means order. The rules of physics try reading it like that

Hi-o
um, is this a question? I am not trying to be belligerent, I am just interested.
I think hearing the Word now is a more personal thing. Sometimes God gives people Words for a community or another person, but God's people isn't a single nation anymore--we're across the world, speaking many languages. I think the situation is different.
what do you mean by "why does man always look for a sign instead of waiting to hear the voice of God"?
wouldn't the voice of God BE a sign?
Also... the Holy Spirit dwells in each of us who believe... so that is different as well.
just my thoughts... good luck in your searching

Only those pure and perfect souls (Krishna, Buddha, Adam, Abraham, Zoroaster, Moses, Jesus Christ, Mohammed, The Bab, Baha'u'llah, etc.) can "hear" the Word of God. They then reveal to humanity what God has said and it is eventually put into written form (The Torah, The New Testament, The Quran, The Baha'i Holy Writings, etc). It is through these weighty Books that humanity can "hear" (read, rather) the Word of God.

Jesus Himself said in John 10:27 that His sheep (all Christians) hear His voice. Is Jesus lying or more like Christians do not believe in what He says. The first step to hearing God's voice is to believe Jesus' saying that you can hear His voice. I believe and I can hear His voice. I do not consider myself as part of the elect. I do not think God has any elect except that He expect us to believe in His word. There is really no room to speculate further just believe God you can hear His voice and you will hear. An obstacle could be your spirit has not been developed to be spiritually sensitive enough to hear God's voice. If this is the case pray in tongues or in other words in the spirit more to develop your spirit. I have prayed in the spirit at a stretch for more than 3 hours to develop my spirit. It is all by our spirit interacting with the Holy Spirit.

I think people do hear the voice of God, But in today's society most folks think your crazy if you start talking about hearing the voice of God. I do believe though, if the message is important to the rest of the population, God will make it known to all.

For Adam and Eve the Paradise was closed, the Heaven was closed for them, because their sin, they don't listen to God.
Adam and Eve, know that God is good and will forgive them one day, they wait for that day, and begin to pray to God,to do things which God enjoy...... That will was keeped in the hearts of believers, for many years.God speaks to mens by prophets, that is whay mens wait the word of God, in any way....they wait the Forgiveness of God, which was coming by the Sufferings and the Resurections of Jesus Chtrist.
The voice of God is hear today in the words of Bible, words on priests,in the Holy Mass,in The Holy Sacraments, and in the words of 2,or more mens, who come together in the Name of Jesus.

If you keep reading, you will find the "so why..."
John 1:14, "And the Word became flesh and dwelled amoung us".
The difference between Jesus and any other prophet or person who hear the voice of God is that Jesus IS the voice of God. Rather than just speaking and hoping someone hears, interpretes and reports the voice correctly, the voice itself took on human form so that it could communicate one and for all time.

I concur that God did speak through the prophets of old and continues to do so today- Billy Graham is one noteable example-many have heard and others rejected his voice.
