Because God isn't a trained seal. You can't hold out a herring and expect him to play 'Yankee Doodle' on blow horns.

I believe in a higher power. I don't know if its God, Yahweh or Elvis. I'm not too concerned with the name of the being, just that it IS. HAS God cured some cases of cancer...I don't doubt it...why THOSE particular cases? Hope. It's a powerful thing...just the thought that someone somewhere was cured might give someone enough hope to hold on for just a few more days, months, hours...whatever.

Unfortunately I'm afraid that if God spontaneously re-grew a limb for someone, the scientific community, or the government would literally take that person apart to see how they work...or worse, people would actually BELIEVE. At that point no one would DO anything else...humans are lazy...if God is just willing to do things for us if we pray than there's no reason for us to do anything...hungry? Don't go out and get a job...pray...God will provide. Your child sick? Don't go to the hospital...pray...God will provide...

There are still many verifiable and recently recorded miracles. Some as recent as the last couple of years. They just don't make the 5:00 News anymore, because the main-stream media is to busy worshiping President Obama.

It is true that God does not intervene to cure mankinds illnesses or suffering. Even if he did provide miraculous cures, how many would believe in him or that the miracles were from him? When Jesus performed miracles in front of many people, some refused to believe in him. Jesus even brought the dead back to life and still they said he was doing the work of demons. His own people called for his death, even after witnessing all the miracles he performed.
God will soon bring all people who put their trust and faith in him, back to perfection. God's Word assures us of this:
Isaiah 29:17-19__"And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. The meek also shall increase their joy in Jehovah, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel."
Isaiah 35:5-7__"Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing; for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert."

He's already told us why.

Miracles are not for our purposes, but for his. He does not use them to "prove himself". Jesus was asked to "perform some miracles" for Herod, and he refused. He wasn't there to "prove" anything to anyone. The Bible provides the specific reasons miracles occur.

They are not because God needs to prove anything to anyone. Their stated purpose, is to further *his* will.

Besides, miracles, when you look at the timeline, rarely occured in the Bible. Hundreds and hundreds of years could go by, before Miracles would happen again. Sometimes nearly a thousand. Very few, if ever, saw them.

God does and chooses what he wants to do. So if you do believe you need to let god be god and get in your place. Im not ryin to get an attitude or anything like that but theres some things you need to just let god worry about. And also god loves everyone, no one can tell you why he does the things that he does in less he gives you a revelation.

Two reasons:
1 - There is no god.
2 - There are no miracles.

No..God does perform miricles of that type, but you wont hear of it on the news or the media, in any way because of the "politcal implications" of such a revelation, these things are denied and or ignored by the media,
