I always liked Xena. She's white--what about Winter?

What are you doing with the dog? Give us more info.
Agility? Name her after a famous athlete. Obedience? After a famous woman of great intelligence-- Curie (after Madame Curie) Ellie? (Eleanor Roosevelt)

Are you hunting? Then Athena, Hera, a goddess of the hunt type name. They were bred to be dogs that hunted and retrieved in water, so a water name? Sprite, Nymph, Selkie, Lorelei, Isis

Nixie is Old German for water sprite.

Try this search site.

You can search by personality trait, color, etc.

Good luck.

PS Remember you don't want to name the dog anything that sounds like a command or a commonly used household word.
OR a common human name as it is sooo embarrassing to meet something who has the same name as your dog.

I absoulutly love the name Devin and my dog is a female Lab, but I think it would be great for a poodle too. It's defintly not French! My best advice is to just watch her personality to find the perfect name.

Poodles originated from Germany so you could look into some German names for her. Or some of the greek goddesses, Athena, Hera, Diana. I always liked the name Kayla, or Lily, Isis, Luna.

I find it rather difficult to name dogs I don't know -- there's always something about their personality that points to a particular name being "right" for him/her.

You seem to have an idea of what you're looking for -- so why not name her something that means something to YOU and not some random name someone on the internet came up with?

Adalia it means Noble one in German... Standard poodles have a grandness/greatness in them. They like to give that attitude of Look at me.. but most dogs do. With her being white you should look up names in German or something else that sounds like it would be regal and show off her attitude... let us know what you go with..

Personally, I like the name Sasha. It's better for bigger dogs I think.

Why does it have to be a dog name? Why not a human name? I like to name my pets human names.
