I had a Muslim apologetic tell me that the Bible had been rewritten, but even atheist scientists agree that it is original.

Seriously, don't question the validity of the Bible unless you read this - Look:
http://www.carm.org/questions/rewritten.htm

What gives guys, for a Catholic, I am not allowed to bear false witness, and this is a very severe sort of lie.

You insist that this is the only place that sites this. I have a commentary (Oxford) that asserts this.

Keeping necessary secrets is different than lieing to get someone to convert.

I am making no statement on the Islamic religion itself. I am cautioning against this activity.

And this is clearly a question. Yes it is OK or No it is not OK. Please elaborate.

King James and his cohorts rewrote the Bible. The Church has removed entire books of the Bible. This is historic fact.

If someone is really trying to convert you to Islam, they would be saying a lot more than just "the bible was rewritten"; they would be telling you about their prophet and the Koran. They would be telling you what they believe their truths are, not just making up lies.

All organized religion uses whatever means it can to gain converts. Catholics have their own bible, Muslims have the qu'ran. That which is a lie to you may not be a lie to them. Also, it is okay according to the qu'ran to tell a lie in order to defend their religion. The iraqi leader even said so on national tv. However, i think it only makes sense that if you are going to choose a religion you read up on the material available to you and make sure you are not being sold a faulty bill of goods. You would not buy a house without doing an inspection and a final walkthrough, life altering decisions like faith should be put to the same sort of rigorous scrutiny.

First of all, there is no original Bible. Second, Catholics are allowed to lie according to their doctrine.

"So that a false statement knowingly made to one who has a right to the truth will not be a lie." [Catholic Encyclical IX, 471].

"We [Catholics] are also under an obligation to keep secrets faithfully. And sometimes the easiest way to fulfill that duty is to say what is false, or to tell a lie." [Catholic Encyclical X, 195]

Also, I have heard enough of Matt Slick's insane ramblings to avoid carm.org forever.

ummmmmmmmm lets think about that for a second.........ok times up the answer is no it is never ok to lie to someone just for the sake of getting them to convert to your religions all it does is proves your religion is a lie(not saying that it is) and when that person finds out that you lied to them just so they would convert it really isnt going to help you because he is justoing to unconvert and probly tell his friends and family about what you did and then you lose all those people also.
sooooo what did we learn today lieing about your religion so people will want to convert to it is bad. it doesnt help lies only tend to make things worse in the end even if they worked and made things alot easier in the beginning sooo no more lieing ok

The only way to covert people to Islam is trough lies, because their entire religion is just that lies. They say they believe "Jesus was a prophet" yet reject every one of His teachings, they say "they believe in the Bible and Torah to be true" yet their beliefs are the total opposite.

This is a rhetorical question and I believe you are actually trying to make a statement about Islam.

If you believe that lies are wrong, then you know the answer. If you do not believe that lies are wrong, then you are on the wrong path.

Wow such nice people on this forum Thank you for being so welcoming. NOT.

Obviously the person who told you that stuff wasn't knowledgeable.... you should be careful who you get your info from. :) The good thing is that you checked out what the poor dude had said. Good for you.

I have respect for the Bible because it is a holy book. Another thing I have respect for is people who have respect for me.

"Is it okay to kill one guy to transform one hundred,000 adult adult males to Islam?" No. "Is is okay to pay money and make the main the poverty of others to unfold Islam?" No. "Is it ok for a woman to sleep with some one else to unfold Islam?" No. "Is it okay to wrongly interpret different religions to unfold Islam?" i might say "unsure" in this one. i'm unsure any religions have a "precise" interpretation. "Is it okay to tell lies to unfold Islam?" i might choose for "no" in this one, yet i don't see how this is available to unfold Islam (or any faith for that matter) without telling lies, so.... "Is it okay to scare people to transform to Islam?" No. "do we enslave some one and promise freedom on convertion to Islam?" No. properly, i think you could, even though if this is neither "ok" nor "morally justifiable". "what occurs to those that try this do they circulate to hell or heven." Neither. Heaven and hell are mythological concepts, neither place exists.

Islam is nothing but lies. Why not lie if you have no morals?

Another lie they use is "we are really peaceful people"

For example, after the pope called them a violent religion, they said "We are not violent! Kill the pope!"

That's REALLY peaceful.
