first thing is that are you really interested in what are you pursuing or not. the mere scope and future is not that important factor in deciding what you want to do. suppose you take up something which has a very bright future, but you are not able to do that thing, then it is of no use. find out your aptitude and then take the decesion according to it.

These two field are difficult to choose from because both will always be used and needed. Considering the effects of constantly expanding commerical, residental, and mass communications, the field of electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunications will be very much needed and very well paid, plus, quite competitive in the future. This field will be needed for the ever growing network of communications and the constant need to expand systems, as well as newer and faster ways of communicating to travel.

I'm sure there will be a place for you in software development, however, thosse graduates who have a specialty in either software engineering; such as computer programming, computer engineering, and the like nature, will have a better chance of getting those spots because of their specialty.

Computer engineering, however, likewise as telecommunications will be around for quite a time too. The need for constantly quicker and more up to date computers will be necessary as the world constantly progresses into the future. Everyday, computer engineering is needed.

Best of luck to you.
Happy Holidays

I have never considered "computer engineering" as engineering at all.

So having said that, I believe you are going to find that mechanical or electrical or civil are the most flexible.

Or better yet, let your field pick you. I see so many people just decide "I am going to do this" even though they are not very good at it, and better at something else. Try mechanical or electrical as a start, and see which way you gravitate towards as you complete the degree program. You don't have to make up your mind the very first day of school.

according to me mechanical is the best branch as only a mechanical engineer can stand in any field. it also helps u to score wellin competitive exams. ofcourse by being a electronics n communication engineer u can be placed in a software company since they select all branch people. but my poinion is to join ur core industry to use what u have learnt. if u study ece and go to software, the salary may be high initially but u wil not know what to do after the age of 35. u cannot grow in software field.

I think ur from India well out her EXTC or elec and telecomm is fav the most but if ur from Mumbai university u ll finally land in an IT company
I would consider comp sci to be engg as all we do is prog software and dont build hardcore stuff as elec or Extc ppl do
It also depends on ur marks and ur interest if ur ready to give 4 yr for dealing with ckts go 4 EXTC and u wanna break ur head coding go in 4 comp engg
