Actually, it maybe your system, in a way. The some of the registry may need to be reset. If you can't find the secedit command on your system, let me know and I can send you a link to it.

This is common. I had this problem for months and was recently able to address the problem with the help of an adobe forum entry.

Please try this and let me know how it goes. You may need a geek friend to assist. It's technical, but it's not that hard to do.

See the source for the full details. Basically you have to:
uninstall flash player.

reset your security settings back to the defaults (a few keys in your registry are messed up to the point where it doesn't think you have authority to mess with them.

To reset your operating system back to original installation default security settings: 1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then press ENTER.
2. Type secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose, and then press ENTER. You receive a "Task is completed" message, and a warning message that something could not be done. You can safely ignore this message. For more information about this message, view the %windir%\Security\Logs\Scesrv.log file.

reinstall flashplayer.

(Personally, I like the functionality and the minimalist look to IE7.0 but I am noticing a number of people on answers that prefer to go back to IE6, SP2. Eventually, we're going to have to go forward.)

Good luck. Cheers.

I was once the identical means, however finally determined to improve to IE7 for one of the vital new points, adding the tabbed interface. I obtained used to it after a whilst. Another choice is to maintain IE6 and set up Firefox for the tabbed interface and a few of it is different valuable points simply so you've an trade browser to IE. At a few factor you're going to customarily be pressured through MS to improve however no motive to give up pre-maturely if you do not wish to. ;-) p.s. I understand there are skins for Firefox, I'm now not definite approximately IE7. Sounds such as you might feel good about upgrading to IE7 should you might continue the less difficult / cleanser seem of IE6.
