This would've been a better question if there was an alternative for such products but so far there isn't, just think of a;; the operations done daily in this country all the dressings and guaze used etc, some things can be avoided and some cant

er, besides the fact that you cant just do away withthem, I sure wouldnt get rid of mine, ok sometimes they're not the best of things, sometimes they're tempermental and can cause PMS, sometimes irregular, but I am more than looking forward to being a mother, and figure it will all be worth it when two people produce a child, who will grow up and live life and develop their own personalities, to comfort and love forever.
Yet this is something us women cant control, it comes weither we want it or not, so I think the goverment ought to re-think the costing of products that are to aid a woman through menstruation.

Women can't go without them so it is up to the manufacturers to develop effective environmentally friendly alternatives.
I also agree they should be a VAT free item - but if they were free on the NHS there would be no competition so no future innovation.

Condoms are also environmentally unfriendly. As is taking the pill, having contraceptive jabs and using spermicide. Maybe if more people had more babies then there would be fewer periods, condoms etc etc!

First, what a daft question. But I do want to point out that women have to pay VAT on sanitary products as they are deemed 'luxury items' by the government. Compare this to the fact that there is no VAT on condoms and you can get these for free from any family planning centre. I suppose that's what you get when your country is run by a load of idiot men.

I wish we could. It is not a pleasant time for a woman and on top of that, we have to pay a fortune for these sanitary products.
It's not as if we can stop ourselves from having a period. Although I discard my waste using the correct facilities.
We should be offered our products on the NHS.

Yes, just cram a haggis up it. After a few days, you would end up with a black pudding.
