'WHY' the Buddha and Jesus taught their doctrine?

Isn't it to bring people from a state of mental childishness to a state of mental adulthood?

Mental adulthood in Christain = Saints
Mental adulthood in Buddhism=Arahats

Could the two great teachers taught the same doctrine but in different conditions resulting in all the modern day confusion?

If it is the same isn't it logical that the two should collaborate in educating human beings to adulthood?

If after successfully benefiting from both religions then people can called themselves Buddhist-Christians or Christian-Buddhist!

As a former Christian and a current Buddhist, I have found both 'doctrines' very worthy and useful but very different. But I prefer not to put a label on myself like Buddhist-Christian.

I find the basic viewpoints of Christianity and Buddhism to life to be opposite sides of the coin, but both worthy.

Sounds good but won't work.
Take for example the teaching that all suffering comes mainly from desire. This is very similar to aspects of Christian sin which spells out suffering for lust, greed (in other words desire.)

So we have two very similar teachings but two totally different solutions and results.

In the case of Buddhism the call is to be free of desire. In the case of Christianity, desire is directed to God (summary of the law and prophets) in order to take on the person and the eternal life of the Lord Jesus Christ. Not a state of being but the very life of the eternal God.

The Christian life starts off by being found of God. Buddhism starts with teaching and ends up with an eternal sound. We start with the indwelling Word which authors the sound.

The true teaching is that our Life is received as a gift of God in the work of Christ through no effort or merit of our own and aside from the understanding of men or religions.

It is absolutely be a sin in having multiple faith towards the Almighty, God. It was clearly emphasized in the Holy Book. As a comparison don't you think it is wiser to believe and have faith in the creator alone. As everybody knows there are a lot of man made Gods out there. Do other so called Gods have the divine power that the Almighty, Allah had in created us and the whole universe (that will include the creation of the so called Gods , too).

The core of all the living faiths are near identical. The differences come when man insists only he is right and the rest will burn for eternity. Christians would look at Buddhists as ripe for the lake of fire. Sad but true.
