The age limit to join the Army has been increased. (I don't know about other branches.) You can now join up to age 42. My hubby is a Drill Sergeant for the Army and they regularly have men joining that late now. As long as they can meet the requirements and the physical, they're in. It's very different being in the Army for 18 years and having men just joining that are your age or just a little older. (There's no female BCT here, thus I say men.)
If that's what you truly want, good luck!! It can be a rough life, but it's a good life!!

You can join the army up to age 42 , this is due to lower enlistment rates because of the war in Iraq .

If we ever get to the point where we need the class of 1964 to join the army we are in big trouble.
I can't see us needing the older guys and gals unless we are staging a last ditch defence of the capitol.
But I can assure you there are enough guns and ammunition in this country to make any invading army think twice.
:)

It can be done, but you will have to pass the over-40 physical which is tougher than the regular ones.
