if you want to get rid of fleas in your house this is what you do. 1. take a medium sized tupperware and fill it with hot water. 2. Put a good amount of dawn dish soap in it and stir it around. 3. Get a UV light and mount in about a foot above the pail. The fleas will be attracted to the UV light and when they hit that water they are dead. Something in dawn kills fleas.

Ingredients Required: Eucalyptus Oil & Wintergreen Oil

This is the natural way of eliminating these unwanted fleas from your home and sleeping place of your pet. It has a natural aroma that is not harmful to Humans, Pets, or Children.

Use ¼ tsp. of Eucalyptus Oil in a 8-10 ounce spray pumper bottle. Fill with water. Put the pumper on a fine mist. Spray your house with the mist. Spray the carpet, furniture, car, pet’s beds everywhere. Fleas hate the aroma and run for the door.

Do this 3 times a week. It leaves a fine mist that dries almost instantly. Your home will have a very fresh scent. Spraying your pet is also a great idea. It doesn’t hurt them and it helps keep fleas away. Do this recipe all year, but especially do this routine in the summer months when fleas are at there peak. Vacuuming is also important for picking up eggs.

Eucalyptus Leaves are also great for placing around the base boards of your house. You can put them under the bed, behind my hutch, behind doors, under the couch. They have a mild scent that stays fresh for 6 months or longer. This along with the Eucalyptus Oil gives added protection. You can buy the leaves from a crafts store that has the flower arrangements for Flower Design, or if your near a Eucalyptus Tree just snip off some cuttings from the branches. You can also buy Eucalyptus leaves at Mountain Rose Herbs.

Use ¼ tsp of Wintergreen Oil in a 8-10 ounce spray pumper bottle. Fill with water. Put the pumper on a fine mist. Spray your house with the fine mist. Spray the carpet, furniture, etc. Basically do the same as above, but on this oil you do this recipe ONCE every 3 months. The easiest time to remember is the first of the month. This oil kills the eggs. Before they become hatched and become adults and lay more eggs. (Thanks to sthaven.com for their article)

At one time in my life I raised birds. When my house infested with fleas, from my dogs and cats, I found that I could not treat them in the usual way due to the birds. I called a vet Friend and asked what I could use and he said Sevin rose dust. Just make a bag of it using a nylon stocking. Put the Sevin in the foot of the stocking and tie it off. Then pat the pets, their bedding, and wherever they hang out with the bag. This is very safe and will not affect the pets, kids, or others in the house. I have used this method with great success and NO PROBLEMS for many years. The dust will kill any fleas at once and will kill any emerging from eggs as well. GOOD LUCK

Try using garlic in small amounts. Ticks and fleas cannot ingest the garlic and will leave your pet alone.
