No. The "mental condition" is called "mental assent". It is when a person claims to believe something, but shows no evidence of it in their lifestyle. They accept something as fact, but never let it infuence their life. That is a delusion.

Faith comes from the heart. It is a conviction that changes their life. Faith that an army will win against impossible odds can win a war. Faith that you can make that final basket can win a game. Faith that you can overcome tragedy can but a family back together. Faith that you can defeat a habit or addiction on bring freedom to your life.

Faith is not a "mental condition". It is a life changing, world altering force.

Faith is the belief in something, anything, that is not able to be seen with the physical eye.
Is the belief that air exists a mental condition. I surely doubt it.
Belief in a God that is as real as I am, but not visible to the physical eye, is not a mental condition. It is a heart, a life, condition.

It would seem to be to the unenlightened thought. One might even hold the belief that faith is a product of extreme fear, and a leading cause of this so-called mental illness. It takes courage to wake and find truth. It is socially acceptable to run with the pack, and far easier too.

Faith is a natural part of man. Throughout history, it is the one thing we all have in common. It is not a mental condition, but something that is healthy in all of us.

It is a 'conditioned mind' 'fear of the unknown' is an important factor that conditions the mind to accept without questioning concepts like God Devil / Heaven Hell / Reward Punishment etc.,etc., The human mind can grasp concepts only when presented with the opposites.
Once conditioned it is near impossible to free oneself of it.
You are instructed not to 'question'. or if you do question be ready to be punished in Hell. The fear of the devil, hell, and eternal punishment are enough to drive you towards 'fundamentalism' in the quest for ' God, heaven and eternal reward'.
And since neither can one prove it or disprove it You have only one path to go by - the word. You have no choice.
People would wash their intelligence down the toilet in the 'belief' of 'god' rather than use the intelligence given by god to understand him or his creation.
For me religion is antithetical to god
