This isn't probably why you have it; but I have it because I was\
sexually molested when I'd go to bed at night as I child. There are I'm sure many other not so bad reasons. I take a LOT of
medication and finally I have it under control with my psychiatrist
help. I wish you the best of luck with this and God bless you.

i started getting the anxiety attacks after my husband killed himself. At the itme though I did not know what these weird things that happen to me when i go to bed. Once I spoke with my doctor - just in a normal conversation one day, I was not particularly worried about it - he mentioned that it was anxiety attacks. Once identified and I knew oh okay this is what it is, I am not having some or other heart attack or something, the attacks went awat completely. So I would say try and ascertain WHY you get the attacks, work through the trauma of your particular problem and the attacks would subside if not go away.

I had a bad bout of anxiety attacks, i went to Cognitive therapy and it helped a lot.
It is the classic "fight or flight" scenario where your body's adrenalin kicks in when you start to panic, (it was pains in my arms that triggered mine) you start putting all thought on this problem and it will trigger something else, usually breathing and dizziness comes next. this becomes a vicious circle that is incredibly hard to get out of.
I was told the best cure is to ride it out, you know your still going to be here in the morning and after awhile the symptoms calm down. I occasionally get the odd pang of anxiety but i am so much better equipped to deal with it now.

Hope things become easier !
