There are several pieces by Van Gogh:
Cypresses by reed pen, and ink, and pencil 1889
Green Wheat Field with Cypress, oil on canvas
Two Cypreses, oil on canvas
Wheat Field with Cypresses, black chalk and pen AND
Wheat Field with Cypresses, oil on canvas

It may be this last one, above, you are referring to.
At any rate, Van Gogh's paintings in this period were painted with vivid color and deeply textured strokes. He is known for his ability to powerfully convey his emotions in his painting and drawing.
The Cypresses, all of them, surge upward, as if on fire into the sky. One writer sees a religious reality in his paintings [the upward sweep of the trees' branches signify prayer]. Also, there is Van Gogh's passionate embrace of the natural world and the rural life, with its wholesome healthiness.
