really depends on how short your hair was when you want it to start growing. In the meantime. putting doogro in your hair and wearing braids is not the only trick to make your hair grow. (If anything braids dont really make your hair grow faster, it just show you that your hair is growing period) Here are a list of options to grow beautiful hair:
-get trims, remove all split ends at least once a month or everyother month, that will help your hair grow faster
-get a hot oil treatment every two weeks or longer, especially when you get braids because braids if they are too tight can damage your hair.
-deep condition, keeps from hair getting to dry.
not to much heat on your head. because you have braids in your hair that shouldnt be a problem.
-(grease or lotion) your scalp AND your ends so that they wont be too dry and dont put to much grease or lotion on your scalp, more applied to your ends since they are more exposed to the enviorment
-your diet, sometimes to fix something outside you must work within. Plenty of fruits and green vegetables work, they have protein and protein is what is in our hair. It also does wonders for your skin.
-stay stressfree, that might sound to broad but stress contributes to women losing hair.
wash your hair as needed, dandruff even though many people believe does NOT make your hair grow, so its important to keep up with clean hair and make sure that you massage and not scratch because when you massage your scalp, the blood circulates and brings even more growth to your hair. and finally,
-stay away from harsh chemicals and styling.
hope that helps, you should have a beautiful full head of hair within 1 year.

Most people, their hair grows from 1/4 in to 1/2 in in a 30 day cycle. But this is if your health is good and you take in the necessary nutrition, vitamins and such. Blood flow is the catch here. That is what feeds the hair, so stimulation and message on the scalp help alot. During the summer or warmer months, most people are more active and notice more hair growth than in the cooler or cold months. Keeping the hair and scalp clean with milder shampoos and conditioners are also best. Limit the use of too much heat utensils, blow dryers, curling irons and flat irons. Don't pull too much on the hair when it is wet, wet hair stretches and can pop like rubber-bands. Always detangle hair by starting at the ends with a wide tooth comb and work up toward the scalp, no yanking (like when we were kids and the dreaded hair brush episodes).

Hair grows on average 1/2 inch per month some ppl are a little slower others faster. I'm not sure what doo gro is, but typically a stimulating shampoo like Paul Mitchel's Tea Tree, or vitamens mat help..still you wont get any dramatic results.

you would be unable to make your hair advance quicker utilising particular remedies. they often in simple terms make your hair greater healthy, which, is important whilst transforming into your hair out, even though it does not help the linked fee at which it grows. on the different hand, some study have shown that utilising rogain makes your hair advance 15% quicker whilst used often so its well worth a attempt. do no longer use "magic shampoos" that are meant to advance your hair "6 inches in 3 months!". Its in simple terms gimmiky crap. Your hair grows a million/2 an inch a month so by using september it may actually be approximately 2 - 2 a million/2 inches =) i'm transforming into mine out too so i comprehend the type you sense ha..

be very gentle with your hair .dont comb or brush it in a hurry our hair is very fragile.
2).for the period that you are trying to achieve your desired length try to keep it braided.i do not recommend a weave or a wig these are not good for your hairline.try individual braids and make sure there is enough hair in each braid to support the human hair or synthetic hair that you (should )use to make them.the parting at the base should not be too small in comparison to the size of braids.there should be enough hair to support the weight of the braid .keep them in for at least 4 months each time. shampoo and condition your hair and wait about a week and do the braids again.it takes patience.
3)when your hair grows long ,to shampoo be gentle and do not do it too many times. once a week is just fine.first, oil it the day before,to shampoo, make 4 large braids and undo each braid, one at a time, shampoo, comb through and redo.do this one by one. continue for the other three combing through each time with a large toothed comb before braiding.follow with conditioner and again undo ,apply conditioner and re do each braid one by one and then wait as specified with the particular conditioner you are using.after that undo them all and use the comb to comb through distributing the conditioner further all through your hair very gently and then rinse .at this point dont put too much tension on the hair.its even more fragile when its wet.
4)avoid heat and excessive friction on your hair
i hope this helps i am black too and most people think i am wearing a weave because my hair is so long.it hasnt always been like this.i am almost 30yrs old and i ve learnt to be patient and gentle on my hair unlike the days i used to comb and brush it several times a day. it has payed off.also its important to use a satin scarf when you go to bed at night.my hair is relaxed.i make sure to use regular strength relaxer and to retouch it every six weeks when i dont have braids.do not over process or under process your hair this will cause it to break.do not overlap when relaxing and condition everytime you shampoo.

if you want your hair to grow longer and faster you need to eat protein I know that sounds weird but trust me, your hair is made up of dead protein so if you do not eat enough of it then your hair will not grow as fast and as for the stuff you put on your hair its a scam you body can only make hair from the inside not the outside. Like my family eats alot of read meat and chicken my hair i have to get cut about evry 3 weeks because it grows so fast. Same with my sisters before she got her own house she does not eat as much red meat now and her hair has almost stopped growing. So eat some meat. If you are a vegan thantake a protein pill

I've heard a half an inch per month making it an inch and a half after three months. I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone or not but I go to the hairdresser once every three months and she take off an inch and a half each time.

Our hair grows at the rate of half inch a month. So after three months they may grow 1.5 inches longer.

The general rule is that our hair grows 1cm every month, or full moon. So in 3mths, by theory your hair should have grown 3cm! Each person is different, due to diet etc. If you were to get your hair cut or styled, you should have it done after the full moon . Then you will get longer out of your new hair style!
