I'm planning a holiday to Cuba in Jan (week starting 13th). Will Pinochet's death have any inpact on tourism? Or should i go somewhere else - in which case - any suggestions?

I am just coming back from a 3 weeks trip in Cuba.

There is no such similar countries with unique and touching spirit. I would not change my plan, to convince you, just check the thorn tree of Lonely Planet which is very well done and useful (link below).

The only thing you could fear is the death of Fidel that can change the internal politics but there will not be a revolution while his brother Raul is alive. Pinochet's death will not have an impact on tourism at all.

So don't change your plan, definitely go to Cuba unless you were planning to stay in Varadero - the less interesting part of the country.
