I want to travel in South America, but also want to work while I do it. Is this a viable option or is the SA "travelling experience" best completed by purely backpacking?
I've tried so hard to find out about this from other sources, but it's a bit tricky. You are my last chance guys.....please help me!

I think the answer depends on the length of time you will be there. For example, if you get in a volunteer program, they often will exchange room and board for your work. The only thing is that a lot of volunteer-type jobs require you to stay in that job for a certain amount of time, anywhere from a few days to 6 months or more. I think this would give you an opportunity to explore on your downtime and save a little money at the same time.

Working in a country is the only way to integrate and experience it as it really is. If you backpack only you do miss something. Try teaching english. Do voluntary work first to gain experience. You could be teaching in Brazil's favellas next year and that is something you can't properly experience unless you've got the locals respect (and protection).

Call the various embassies for the country in which you will travel to, their purpose is not just to issue passports and visa, is also to advice and where to visit and documents you may need to have in the process.

i does not place self belief in getting jobs, and that they pay very almost to not something, in case you have acquaintances that stay in those international places it might lots easier and safer. a vacationing woman on my own can grow to be a elementary prey. and those international places are so significant in drugs you fall into the class of casi desechables.

Even if they allow you to work, finding it won't be easy. Many locals can't find jobs.It is dangerous also. Here we have zones that we know shouldn't visit, but there is everywhere. Any way, I wish you good luck.
