The debate about creationism vs evolution on these boards is truly mind boggling. There is so much evidence to back up evolution, and none to back up creationism except belief. I must point out though, that there is nothing wrong with belief.

My concern is with those who continually lie and decieve to support their views about creationism. If you want to believe it, thats fine, but using deceit to try and persuade others is just wrong. Wouldn't the christian churches consider it a sin to lie?

"Scientific" Creationism is its own religion that has split itself from Christian teaching. They call themselves Christian, but they put more stock in page 1 of the Old Testament than the teachings of Christ.

I truly wish you'd given an example of "those who continually lie and decieve to support their views" as I think you will find people of such character on both sides of the issue.

Personally, I know that both creation and evolution occurred and there is no discrepancy. The biggest stumbling block is the age of the earth, 6000 years or a few million? The problem is the lack of biblical support for the 6000 years estimate. That is a man-made guess and I think it is wrong!

I can plainly see that there is biblical evidence to support evolution, as no length of time is given between the time the earth was created to the time the Serpent deceived Eve. This supports the reason why God put them in a garden surrounded by 'walls' along with a dozen other questions folks have about the creation. If they resided in the garden for millions of years, most certainly evolution would have occurred around them while they remained protected.

Myself,I wouldnt lie to you about knowing much on that evolution story but when it comes down to belief,I dont just follow any religion, far as I'm concerned even the Koran talks about Jesus.I follow Christianity and every word written in it.You must not know how to read the bible.Thats not the issue here though, thing is time will come when pastors arent gonna be considered as religious leaders no more but just like any other, people tryna make it into heaven. When the bible will no longer be effective among christians coz of its strictness. We are almost there coz the ten commandments are barely watched out for nowadays.I live in Germany momentarily and its like every second person believes in himself.Sometimes 8/10 in themselves. The book talks about only 144,000 making it into the pearly gates when Christ comes back. Now I know my church doesnt support lies of any sort and I'm not a prophet but I can back up my words when I say armageddon has started.Noticing how storeaways keep getting caught and refuge being seeked by foreigners who if are overseas dont ever wanna get back to where they came from.Speaking from what I've viewed and researched and the book goes on to say that if you deny your family, you've denied God.Thats why you hear them say east or west home is best. Now I came to Germany and indulged into all kinds off immorality and with time,it all I got used to it that it didnt even bother me.Getting down for a minute, reading verses in the scripts,I saw how I evolved from a good christian to sin supportinig person.Time will come when the holy spirit will refuse to open the eyes of the dead and ears of the def because the people through the years will be like dogs running back to their vommit.Being redeem and restored and backsliding going back to evil.Far as I'm concerned my church dont lie coz everything we learn is in alignment to the world. It exposes darkness and lets you know God is light.

Well don't you think that the Creator would be smart enough to allow creation to evolve and adapt to the environment. Evolution still happens with insects and micro-organisms. But as far as humans evolving from Apes is kind of a stretch. There would be no Apes if they evolved. As far as the Dinosaurs are concerned, before the flood things lived much longer and reptiles never stop growing until they die which explains why the Dinosaurs were so big. The Bible actually talks about Dinosaurs in the Book of Job. As far as blind belief goes, that's where faith comes in. You read the Bible and you either believe it or you don't but one thing is for sure you'll know all you need to know after you die.

If evolution were the truth, then one would have to say also that there is NO purpose to life, it matters not what you do or think or feel because your bones will drop dead either sooner or later (depending on when ones health decides to be non-existent), and that any evidence of beauty or harmony is simply an accident or a "freak" of nature, and that one God is a lie, as well as all religion, the bible, and Jesus.
Is the material evidence supporting the evidence of material life and evolution the final truth, or matter's final statement?
My views do not come from the blind following the blind The proof I have would be words to you, but is truth to me and others who know from experience. There is no deception or sin coming from these words and this is not here to persuade, but rather to maintain.

You said there is "so much evidence to back up evolution".

First creationism, from what I understand, states something to the effect that the earth was created is 7 literal 24 hour periods, true? Well, that is truely no the case as each of the creation days could and probably was thousands of years long. We do have a fossile record although carbon dating isn't the most accurate it is a no brainer that alot of fossils and rock formations are millions of years old.

But note:

Summarizing some of the unsolved problems confronting evolution, Francis Hitching observed: “In three crucial areas where [the modern evolution theory] can be tested, it has failed: The fossil record reveals a pattern of evolutionary leaps rather than gradual change. Genes are a powerful stabilizing mechanism whose main function is to prevent new forms evolving. Random step-by-step mutations at the molecular level cannot explain the organized and growing complexity of life.”—Italics added.

25 Then Hitching concluded by making this observation: “To put it at its mildest, one may question an evolutionary theory so beset by doubts among even those who teach it. If Darwinism is truly the great unifying principle of biology, it encompasses extraordinarily large areas of ignorance. It fails to explain some of the most basic questions of all: how lifeless chemicals came alive, what rules of grammar lie behind the genetic code, how genes shape the form of living things.” In fact, Hitching stated that he considered the modern theory of evolution “so inadequate that it deserves to be treated as a matter of faith.”19

26 However, many advocates of evolution feel that they do have sufficient reason to insist that evolution is a fact. They explain that they are just arguing over details. But if any other theory had such enormous remaining difficulties, and such major contradictions among those who advocate it, would it so readily be pronounced a fact? Merely repeating that something is a fact does not make it a fact. As John R. Durant, a biologist, wrote in The Guardian of London: “Many scientists succumb to the temptation to be dogmatic, . . . over and over again the question of the origin of the species has been presented as if it were finally settled. Nothing could be further from the truth. . . . But the tendency to be dogmatic persists, and it does no service to the cause of science.”

Evolution while a fact within in a species, has not been proven to be true from one species to another. Think logically for a moment...if that's possible...

By the very definition of the word, evolution is an onging and continuous process. Therefore, had we evovled from apes, there would still be apes evolving into man. Have you seen any around? I know I haven't.

I am Christian. I personally do not believe that we evolved. However, I am not closed-minded to new scientific theories. When God, Himself, comes to me and says that we did evolve from ape, I will believe the thoery without the scientific proof.

Here's how I see it. I believe God created us "in His own image" just like the Bible says. I believe He is all powerful and all knowing. By believing this, I have nothing to lose if in the end we all learn that He does not exist. But by not believing His word or His existence, you have everything to lose if in the end we all learn that he does exist.

I agree with abelkhouche.

There are real scientists at Creation Research and Answers In Genesis who give real true scientific explanations as to why the fact of Creation is superior to the theory of Evolution. They do not need to lie.

Creationists do not follow blindly. They are extremely well informed. It is Evolutionists who follow blindly and have more faith than all the Creationists put together.

I have yet to see sufficiant proof to back up evolution. I have seen stages, but nothing in between. There has been no evidence of the steps from point a to point b to show how it happened. What is your problem that you can't see that? Evolution shows one step, and then the finished product. There is no proof of what happened in between.

You claim that CHristians are blind, but I think you are just as blind. You can't see that your science doesn't hold all the answers and you mock what you do not understand.

I sorta agree with your assessment. WHY God created us is the important issue...not HOW.

The friction arises when Creationists act in a very stubborn manner and deny the reality of science, which is simply another of God's creations.

Conversely, some Evolutionists use science in an attempt to prove that God doesn't exist.

Regardless of which manner of creation is more accurate, neither have any bearing on the reason WHY God created us, the meaning of life, God's Truths, etc.

Personally, I suspect that man originated by some means of evolution with God having planted the seed.
