it hurts when I tilt my head to the left

Ouch!!! I know exactly how you feel as this has happened to me allot! One thing that is going on is that the muscle has tensed up. What's so bad about this is that we tend to tense up more to compensate for it. You can use some cream on it that causes heat such as Ben-gay and take an analgesic such as Ibuprofen or aspirin. Hot moist towels can help too. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

apply any local pain balm mixed with little olive oil and apply and then gently massage it. This would give you good relief. For a permanent solution do yoga everyday and you will never have such problems in future.

The best bet is a heat pad or hot watter bottle.
During the day use deep heat or ralgex cream.
Works wonders.
