Irrespective of the fact that we may not be able to speak in language other than our Mother tongue but we should be respectful towards the Mother tongues of fellow Indians. Only in that way we can nurture and cultivate our true Indian fraternity.
We should consider that we the Indians are brothers and sons of this great Nation. Then shall anybody desert or hate his brother who speaks in a language other than him? Certainly not.
The framers of the Constitution decided that the Hindi would be the State Language and should be the "Lingua Franca". Its the pious duty of all of the Indians to learn this language. Coercion and putting pressure to do something without one's consent and against his will fails to yield the desired result.
A Bengali will say he loaths Hindi, so will be the version of a South Indian. What does it mean? It means they feel their language to be superior than Hindi and here lies the trouble. This feelings give the rise of separatist agitations. This should immediately be stopped.
If we want to be known ourselves as true Indian then we must have fellow Indians and have respect for them.

Hindi should be accepted as the national language.and everyone should be speaking Hindi. One may not accept and learn all the regional languages but its enough if they respect each other. Its just not because of the language but it may bring some unity among us.

Secondly if anyone is given an option to learn, between another language and his/her mother tongue, anyone would pick his/her mother tongue. Its just because its easy to pick up your own mother tongue than someone else's

The basic use of a language is to communicate with other people. It is my opinion that it should be solely used for that purpose.
If the need arises for a person to learn a particular language to communicate with another, logically the solution would be to learn it.
