If and all-knowing, all-powerful and all-present God did create the universe then, yes, what you say is true...What might be important is what this god is or what this god might really be...And even more important is where this god might be. For example, is s/he immanent or transcend...In other words is s/he in the world (immanent) or outside the world (transcendent)? Christians, Jews and Moslem's may disagree about lots of things but all these faiths place God outside the world He created. In other words, their God is transcendent. For some philosophers such as Spinoza, God is immanent in the world. This idea is usually referred to as pantheism. There is also the idea that God is immanent in the world but that he somehow has the power to get outside it too. This is called parentheism.
To confuse things even more, here are some interesting websites to check out|:

Hey, I thought of that too!!! Glad to see I'm not the only weirdo(Lol, sorry for that!^^) Well, if see according to the Bible, Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God (I don't know what religion you are, so I'll just go easy) and Sin is therefore present. With Sin, we are not perfect anymore. So we suffer from Sin.
Anything and everything was created for the purpose of glorifying this 'Creator' even evil entities?
After reading this, it's because we sin, that we are not perfect, but we are still given the blessing to be born and worship the Lord even though we are unclean. God never created evil stuff. It's us that turned evil, and this includes Lucifer, now Satan.
If God has the power to destroy all evil, why doesn't He do so, with a snap of His fingers? I wondered about that too. Perhaps, 1st: We sinned, therefore it is just fair we have to suffer for it, but there is always God that we can seek help from ^^! We can then go to Heaven with Him and eventually everything will be perfect then!. 2nd: We know good from bad, so we should decide for ourselves what is good for us. Argh, well basically I just think we just need to believe in Him, that is all we need to do.
Conclusion?
1. God never created evil. Evil was born only after Sin is present.
2. I just ignore the evil things, and move on.
3. We are sinful due to Adam and Eve eating the fruit of sin that enables us to know good and bad, we are left to choose for ourselves. What is the purpose of creating humans, putting a control inside them and let them act like robots and worship you without joy and meaning?
4. Since Sin is here now in this world, God allows evil so we can be stronger.
Might be just a simple doodle, just like my mind now, geez, I'm going to sleep....

well, if god wanted to create a perfect world, then he is not perfect because he failed to do so. if god is perfect, then he is a sadistic prick for letting despair plague the world for the last 2000 years. if god doesn't exist, then the creation of the universe is an accident. since the first and second have been proven to be wrong by religious people, i prefer to believe in the third one.

Let me try to explain it this way:
If I have a bar of gold I would be happy, that is until I find out that it can be refined to a more pure form of gold. Most of you should know that up to 5% of gold (jewelry) contains silver. So now I refine it over and over and over to purify the gold.
Now... if the all-powerful being (for want of a beter description) knew it had shortcoming itself (impurities) it could create a world like ours and put pieces of itself through it over thousands of years to purify itself.
If this being created everything, then you are surely part of it. It is for you to decide if you are going to become an impurity which will eventually be discarded.
Make sense?

To the God that mentioned satan.. lol who created satan, who created evil? Nothing happens outside of the Fathers will.
But to answer the question, it answers itself in the bible..
"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things" (Isa 45:7 KJV) -- "The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil" (Prov 16:4 KJV) -- "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?" (Amos 3:6 KJV).
God does, why? This is answers itself in the bible as well, "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive" (Gen 50:20 NKJ).

Actually, some of do actually know that there IS indeed one all-knowing, all-powerful and all-present God, and He has made a way for all to know Him. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life; no man comes unto the Father but through me". Try Jesus, you will be delightedly surprised, if you do it in truth.
Then your question will no longer start with "If..." but rather "Since..."

why don't you ask yourself what would happen if this world is perfect ?
if there was no evil and everyone was good then why would god send us on earth if he knew that none of us would sin.
God created a world of possibilites, a test if you will to show the pure human from the evil one...how could you know if a person is evil without giving him the tools to express it....hope this helps
im a muslim btw.

Actually, we know that there ISN'T such a being.
Because if there was, we'd have some evidence to support his existence.
And we don't. Not one single solitary shred of credible evidence exists.
Oh and for the record, quotes from an outdated book of bronze-age jewish mythology, do not count as proof. If they did, then you could prove the existence of Aslan by quoting the Chronicles of Narnia, or prove the existence of the Tin man by quoting the books of Oz...

God wanted everyone (living and super-natural) to have a free will. Yes, He did know what was going to happen, but that does not change the fact that WE still do not. We have a free will, and He wants us to use it!
PS: read the bible ;p
