Yes! I went through a liscence check one time and he made me pull off to the side of the road just to ask me if I was married.I didn't know those checks were suppose to be pick up spots for horny cops.I couldn't help but to laugh!

LOL Of course they do, but mainly because they know they CAN (and yes, this is coming from someone who has been in the business).

Does it make it right?? No. Not at all! But think about it....the world of law-enforcement is a very small, different world. The chances of one police officer pegging another with a speeding ticket when they flash their badge is like zero. Why??? Well, as horrible as it sounds, a lot is who you are/know, but then the other part is the trust. You never know if that officer you just ticketed will actually help you out in a situation where you life is on the line. Sad, but can be totally true.

You generally won't see them running red lights for the sake of running red lights...they aren't necessarily going to purposely do dangerous things...but speeding, maybe an occassional drunk driving (yes, ok..that is dangerous), etc....you bet. It happens.

But on the flip side, there are officers I know, too, that are straight as a line. They truly practice what they preach....and that is pretty admirable, if you ask me.

I have seen numerous incidences of the authorities taking advantage of the law. From running red lights, speeding, running stop signs, all the way down to basic traffic laws.

I think everyone has. After all power corrupts….

Although they were not law enforcement, I have seen an ambulance turn on its lights to go threw an intersection, only to turn off its light, pull into, and eat the same restaurant as my family. Emergency food???

Are you kidding? Probably the one everybody sees the most frequently is speeding. Haven't you ever been on an interstate or turnpike, doing somewhere around the 65 MPH speed limit and had a state trooper go flying by in the left lane, probably at 80 MPH or more? No lights, no call ... just cruisin'!

I know a guy who uses his position to SPY on folks. Runs the auto tags just to see who was parked on the street near their house last night, etc. Spy's on his girlfriend to make sure she's not cheating. Like someone said earlier, cops are human and SOME will certainly use their power as a perk.

If you & I used our job as a means to spy on people...the cops would arrest us!

Yep, years ago, drag racing in the city with each other's squad cars. Go figure. Speeding is pretty typical.

They are human beings aren't they? The police department all over the country on all levels of government have "badge heavy" cops, who love to stick it to people, and do as they please, because they think of themselves as above the law. Most are ok, but you have rotten apples in every law enforcement agency.

all the time- speeding, using vehicles for personal use, DUI, fighting, running red lights, no seat belts. under the influence on duty, i know one who beats his wife, and one who lies and will say the suspect ran and he likes to break legs.
