White vinegar and water cleans all jewelery safeley, or Baking soda and water. These both eat the grime and grit away without damaging the jewel or the metal it is set in (gold etc) I too had to seek advice on best cleaning products for jewlery, i tried using toothpaste etc, does clean it but is too abrasive, though diamonds are a very hardy gem, you dont want to scratch the gold either! This i have found the cheapest option and easiest, as either of these ingredients are usually found in your kitchen cupboard. And congrats on your engagement/marraige :)

Old toothbrush and warm soapy water (liquid soap), give it a good scrub mostly in the BACK of the stone and dry on lint free cloth - watch it shine! If you've had it a while this is a good time to check the claws (little beads of gold which hold the stone in place) are in good condition. If there are any other stones in the ring, do not clean like this, diamond doesn't mind, but some other stones will not take it.

If you take it to any jewelry store like in the mall or whatever, they will normally offer to clean it for free. Also, you can get those ultrasonic jewlery cleaners for pretty cheap now and they last forever. You just put the solution (which comes with it) in one side and then put water in both sides until a line and turn it on for 2 or 3 minutes and you are done.

Diamonds are very hard and don't damage easily....you can clean it with a jewelry cleaner you buy at the jewelry store or at a department store like target etc. Once a year, take it back to the jeweler where it was purchased to have it professionally cleaned and to have the prongs checked....good luck

Diamond is the hardest mineral. It does not scratch easily at all! Use jewelry cleaner. My ring came with cleaner, but you can get it at any jeweler or department store.

I clean mine with a soft toothbrush and toothpast! A warm rinse after and it looks as bright as the first day I got it. Remember diamonds are pretty touch, so as long as you use a soft bristle brush, you can give it a pretty thorough scrub!

It may seem strange but it really works ! Use plain old toothpaste and a baby toothbrush ! I clean my wedding and engagement ring that way and it works well.

Take it to the store he bought it at and have them clean it. My wifes ring is required to be checked every 6 months and they clean it for free.
