I heard that you get an automatic 12 months extention, once you apply to adjust your status, before your card expires. Could you apply to get another extention, for 12 months more ?

In your last question you said it was expired. The answer to your question only on a case by case basis. If you apllication has been filed and you waiting yes .If not then no. You can not apply after its expired. You either have to go back to your country and reapply or apply under special circumstances laws.
