Yes! You will develope "runners heart" in the long run, where the heart will become enlarged, and maybe you will need a pacemaker in your old age!
Lots of people who run a lot develope this, and as the heart is enlarged, the heart muscle cant pump the blood in fast enough, thus weakening it... (yea, it sounds strange doesnt it, but, I have seen healthy people who were runners just drop over dead because of this symptom!!).
And, I used to run a lot in the Marines, and I have two pacemakers now. (Of course, the bout with alcohol didnt help much either)...
I wish you well..
Jesse

As with any exercises it should be done in moderation
Jogging is good for you ,
in that it promotes good circulation , weight loss and a feeling of well being .
However ....
If you are jogging on a hard surface on a regular basis;
if you over do it
. you can get stress fractures in your legs
.,
Torn/strained -- Achilles tendon injuries ,
have happened on occasions .
Jogging , may play up your joints
Jogging will aggravate, existing knee injuries
this may aggravate or develop arthritis .
take your exercises with care ,
and a steady build up.
ENJOY JOGGING !
but do not overdo it .

No, as long as you wear a good pair of sneakers/runners. Don't run on concrete, its bad for your ankle and knee joint. Run on an athlete track or grass/dirt.
Focus on your breathing to prevents cramps/stitches.
Don't forget to do some stretches after your jog.

Bottom line is calorie burn off is calorie burn off. You want to do your exercise when you will feel better about completing them. If you like to do it at night then do it at night. The most important thing is to exercise consitantly. You lose muscle mass if you lose weight to quickly. That is why they say you only want to lose a couple of pounds a week.
